Two years after the last St. Patrick's day celebration in a Happy Ol' McWeasel way, our paths crossed again. But this time, I was working as their official photographer which meant more work but also much more fun! :)

Last week I was invited for the rehearsal of a very cool Maribor based band Okttober, who I’m very fond of. I had a fabulous time with them (great guys, just like their melodic melancholic rock music) in their great and spacious rehersal room - had more space to jump around than in most of the clubs I photograph usually :)

Madame Brumowski are a new cool Slovenian band from Maribor, consisting of members that have been active in many, many other bands. And one thing that makes them special is my wife Špela, who is a trained violinist but here she also took the role of a singer and the song writer.

The girls from Djembabe are just in the process of finishing their second album, so this concert at Festival Etnika 2018 in Maribor was a great opportunity for the home audience to hear some new material as well as the old hits from their debut album.

One day after my wife Špela played with her band Djembabe in Maribor, she was playing with her other (new) band - Madame Brumowski - in a fabulous outdoor venue of an old quarry (stone pit). And we were able to arrange babysitting again (I explained the problem in my last blogpost), so I was very lucky to be there! :)

It was a while since the last time I photographed Djembabe live, have to admit. Paradoxically, because my wife plays the violin in the band - that’s why I was even more happy to catch them opening Maribum Afriqui 2018 festival this month in Maribor! ;)
