"Plesni utripi" is a regional dance show for children and youth dance groups. Its main intention is to review the dance activities of dance groups and individuals working in cultural societies, institutions and schools, where they deal with different dance approaches and genres, but their goal is to present dance at the artistic level or as performing arts.
Organised by JSKD and held in Puppet theatre Maribor, it featured dance schools and groups from Maribor region and it was divided into two nights - some amazing performances there, I really enjoyed it photographing!

First night of 30th Open Dance Scene was reserved for "Plesni utripi mladih" (Youth Dance Beats) - presentation of dance miniatures of young dancers from various local dance schools and selection for Živa, the Festival of young dance creativity in Slovenia.
One week after the final dance performance of Plesna izba Maribor, drummers from different groups of different age and level took the venue outside of Karantena building and showed us their skills - great African rhythms made a hot summer temperature even hotter! :)
Plesna izba Maribor's annual summer dance show performance
Although was the school year 2020/21 anything but normal due to COVID-19, with a big pause in classes and regular practices for young dancers, Plesna izba Maribor decided to produce its annual summer dance performance, with the situation getting a bit better and restrictions for groups of people gathering lifting here in Slovenia.

I was very happy to be commissioned and to collaborate on another annual winter dance production by Plesna izba Maribor, Maribor’s well known dance school & dance company, photographing young talented dancers in another great performance!

This past weekend I was very happy and privileged, to document 32nd Winter dance school (32. Zimska plesna šola) - my third in a roll - that was organised by JSKD and held in Plesna izba Maribor. Full of very talented young dancers and their great mentors, this workshop was again, just as last two years, a joy to photograph! :)
Third and final part of the annual summer production of Plesna Izba Maribor featuring their numerous and talented drummers, with a little help of some other musicians, including famous guitarist Igor Bezget and yet to be famous cello player Ariel Vei Atanasovski.

Last weekend, I've been very privileged to photograph amazing young dancers from whole Slovenia (plus some foreign guests) with their amazing mentors, during the 30th Winter dance school (30. Zimska plesna šola). Such passion and talent in one place - simply, for a lack of better word, amazing!
Plesna izba Maribor's annual winter dance show production
Continuing our great collaboration with Maribor’s well know dance school & dance company Plesna Izba Maribor, I documented another annual winter show production of the most of their different classes - from small kids to jazz and modern/contemporary dancers!
Monja Lorenčič and Domen Žugelj, known also under their artistic name Moment, are two great, young and very talented dancers from Slovenia that needed some fresh pics for their portfolio - I was very honoured to work with them on a quick photo shoot last month and am sure will do this again, since all three of us had a great time :)
Concert documentary showing performances and behind the stage shots from the David Byrne's "The Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno" tour, including not just musicians but some modern dancers too. For all fans of David Byrne, Talking Heads and the ones that like the good mix of modern dance with pop music!
Some of the photos that I took at the recent dance photography workshop with Chris Nash, along with the ones from my fellow photographers, will be shown as part of The Moving Gallery project in the next two days, as part of Front@, contemporary dance festival.
