First edition of the Back To The - Future Jazz festival, organised by Gramofonoteka team, included two nights of, well, future jazz music - sadly, I was there only the first night.

Happy Ol' McWeasel are the best Slovenian Irish punk band, that celebrated their 10th anniversary and St. Patrick's day combined this Saturday in their hometown Maribor. And what a show it was! :)

Their intelligent, witty, ironical and satirical lyrics were actually quite a revelation to me when I moved to Slovenia more than decade ago and were one of my first Slovenian bands that I truly enjoyed while I learned the language. I still do.

This past weekend I was very happy and privileged, to document 32nd Winter dance school (32. Zimska plesna šola) - my third in a roll - that was organised by JSKD and held in Plesna izba Maribor. Full of very talented young dancers and their great mentors, this workshop was again, just as last two years, a joy to photograph! :)

Regardless of how often do you go and listen to the live music, this is something you don’t see very often: twenty seven guitars (!!) - on stage!

Slovenian composer, pianist and producer Tine Grgurevič together with Mario Babojelić - UM on guitar and effects gave us a great night of electronic music.

Opening for the Placebo who are on tour celebrating their 20 year long career, The Joy Formidable were actually the reason I went to Zagreb last night...

Great double bill night with two brilliant and loud Slovenian bands in the accompanying programme of Stop Trik movie festival!

Solar Pulse Music is a very agile and very cool collective organising concerts of independent music bands in Maribor. And they’ve been doing this already for the last ten years (time really does fly)! To celebrate that momentum, they put together a four day festival bringing us some of the best underground and indie bands from Slovenia (plus guests from Austria and Finland), featuring many, many different musical styles.

Weather forecast for the night didn't look good at all in the beginning, but happily, forecasters were wrong - just a bit rain didn't spoil a fabulous open air gig!
