Sašo Vollmaier photo studio session
Sašo Vollmaier photo studio session
Few months ago I had a privilege to have Sašo Vollmaier in my SHtudio for a photo session - very creative session, plus lots of laughs :)
Sašo is an amazing musician, pianist, teacher, human being and a great friend and this was not the first time we did something together and I can bet you it’s not the last :)
Our main idea was to not do "your classical pianist photo", since Sašo is so much more than (just) a classical pianist. I’ll just mention that he used to play in Laibach for six years before he moved to France for personal and professional development. And actually, he’ll have a premiere of his new project "Vollmaier plays Laibach" just next month! :) Anyways, check more about him at www.sasovollmaier.com!
Special thanks goes to my wife Špela for the black&white painting on Sašo and Nika Mirt for the pre-shoot make-up counselling! ;)
Eleven moths after they were in my, then newly opened, photo studio for some promo photos, Koala Voice - one of my favourite bands - is back! Yep, we have a hell of a coffee here at SHtudio and people tend to come for more :)
Uroš Kaurin and Vito Weis are two brilliant Slovenian actors whose performance Heroj 2.0 (Hero 2.0) made quite a big impression on me and my wife Špela. I’m sad I haven’t seen the first performance (Heroj 1.0), but was very excited when I was commissioned to shoot the promotional photographs for the third performance for which we did a photoshoot in Ljubljana few weeks ago.
Sometimes in the fall of 2017 I was commissioned to photograph few studio full length portraits of the same model in different costumes from different well known theatre plays and historical periods...

Our songs, your dreams
The only rock band in the world that played both in North Korea and South Korea came to Zagreb together with RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra with a brilliant multivisual programme titled "Our songs, your dreams".
Last weekend I did a quick promo photoshoot for a Croatian/Slovenian band Helika, which, I’m sure, is already a pretty known name to the regular readers of my blog since I’ve been photographing them on multiple occasions. And that’s not just because my wife is in the band, but also ‘cause I really like their "trip pop" music!

We come in Peace
Just one week after their special retrospective concert performance in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in London (first band that had that kind of a show there) and a little less that a year after their last appearance in Maribor, probably the most known Slovenian band worldwide is back in town. And this time, they
came in peace!

Laibach are most certainly the most known Slovenian music group in the world, who, seems to me, are always on tour, and always with some new projects. This time it's "Laibach Revisited" where, in the light of their 30th Anniversary, the group presents newly arranged versions of some of their...

2x2: Live CD and DVD recording
To have the opportunity to shoot one of your favorite bands when they are recording their first live album and live DVD in their career, is a privilege. To be one of the two official photographers that are shooting for the band that night, is a joy :)
