This year, photographically speaking, has started with the dance for me :) 

As I already mentioned in a previous post, I had a week of photographing dancers in my photo studio in Maribor and after working with the incredible Dalanda Diallo, the next amazing dancer to step in front of my camera was Maša Bozovičar.

After way to many moths have past, mainly due to other projects and life in general, I have finally continued my personal photo project called Dancers in studio. One week, three dancers, first one beeing amazing Dalanda Diallo!

I was hired to document the premiere performance of another masterpiece from KUD Baobab production called "Temporalnost drugih". It was another great dance performance which I really enjoyed!

2023 calendar photoshoot

Shooting Edita for a 2023 calendar was surely one of the longest, but also a photoshoot filled with many, many loud laughs that I had in years! :)

Premiere of a great dance & music performance created by Dalanda Diallo and Maša Kagao Knez and produced by KUD Baobab.

Choreographed by internationally renowned choreographer Mojca Ussar, this great performance was a pure joy to photograph!

Mojca pole dance calendar photo shoot

I was contacted recently by Mojca, a pole dance student of Pandora - Art of Pole pole dance school, with a very specific request - she wanted to do a photoshoot of herself doing pole dance poses for a calendar. Needless to say, the challenge sounded to good to be true so I jumped at the idea immediately :)

Third and the last day of the annual 30. Odprta plesna scena (30th Open dance scene) festival brought the dynamic duo of Marina Abib and Beno Novak with their performance "Kup kuncev" (400 rabbits) which was a pure joy to photograph :)

First night of 30th Open Dance Scene was reserved for "Plesni utripi mladih" (Youth Dance Beats) - presentation of dance miniatures of young dancers from various local dance schools and selection for Živa, the Festival of young dance creativity in Slovenia.

Plesna izba Maribor's annual summer dance show performance

Although was the school year 2020/21 anything but normal due to COVID-19, with a big pause in classes and regular practices for young dancers, Plesna izba Maribor decided to produce its annual summer dance performance, with the situation getting a bit better and restrictions for groups of people gathering lifting here in Slovenia.

Nagib is well known Maribor based society for cultural production that have been working in the field of contemporary dance for some years now. This season, they’ve organised community gathering for artists who live or work in Maribor in the field of contemporary dance...

Past weekend I had a privilege to photograph contemporary dance performance choreographed by Beno Novak and performed by the very talented girls of Plesna izba Maribor’s Š.I.K. collective.

Though I’ve been photographing dancers for about a decade now, I have to admit this was my first time I was shooting pole dancers — can’t believe what I was missing! :)
