Radiohead + Caribou
Villa Manin, Codroipo (Italy), 26/09/2012
Although weather forecasts didn't look so good for that day and particularly that evening for Udine region, we only had one rain shower just when we were entering into the photo pit before Radiohead. Fortunately, it stopped just before Thom Yorke and the guys came onto the stage, which made the things much easier for all of us photographers.
They were supported by the "always great to see live" Daniel Victor Snaith a.k.a. Caribou, which were a bit difficult to shoot 'cause of the lights (pure red or pure blue, you name it). But OK, there was Brad Weber, one of my favourite drummers to photograph performing, so all was good! ;)
This was my third encounter with Radiohead live, though first time as a solo gig (I've seen them at the Southside festival in Germany, and FM4 Frequency in Austria), and first time as a photographer. Musically and visually speaking, I know we were there for a treat, and that it's going to be an amazing concert, and I was not wrong - start with the fabulous "Lotus Flower", one of my favourite songs of all times, just proved that :)
With a help of an extra drummer (Clive Deamer, touring member of Radiohead and Portishead, and one of the members of an excellent rock-jazz quartet Get The Blessing), Radiohead played for more than two hours making this concert one of my favourites this year.
At the end of the evening, everything was in it's right place. Just like recently with Sigur Rós - amazing night with an amazing band.
