Chick Corea Trio

My second year as the official photographer for this great summer jazz festival which brought some delicious moments and discoveries!

Not my first time at this very lovely jazz festival in Koprivnica, Croatia, my birth town and the town in which I’ve spend my last few years before moving to Slovenia, but the first time as their festivals official photographer :)

My second gig of that evening (after very lovely Lovely Quinces) was something completely different...

Exhibition opens as accompanying programme of the festival on 9th June 2017 in Maribor, Slovenia

The second edition of the festival organised by Glas podzemlja and MKC Maribor started last Friday, and will continue this Friday with two concerts (Urška Supej kvartet + OrGanic FunkaDelic), jam session and opening of two new exhibitions as part of their accompanying programme!

Regardless of how often do you go and listen to the live music, this is something you don’t see very often: twenty seven guitars (!!) - on stage!

Visiting my old town, meeting old and new friends and checking out new and smooth jazz festival (hot summer nights, cold beer and cool jazz!) - what more can one ask for? :)

The Pyramids started in the 1970s in Ohio and self released tree records, disbanded in the 1977, only to be resurrected 30 years later - their "massive Afro-centric drumming meets ecstatic group improvisations" caught attention of the famous DJ Gilles Peterson and the rest is history!

Last concert of the first part of their European tour was exactly as last gigs should be - sold out, packed and awesome!

Less then two years after their great gig in Maribor, excellent rock-jazz quartet from Bristol is back in Maribor by popular demand!

Second concert in 2014 in "Jazz in Narodni dom" (Jazz v Narodnem domu) series - very interesting and a very loud night of John Zorn's music by seasoned musicians!

Another concert from the "Jazz in Narodni dom" (Jazz v Narodnem domu) series and this time with a touch of punk!

A night of great jazz with very talented Slovenian pianist and composer Kaja Draksler's trio Bad Boosh Band!

Made to Break, new exciting project of the legendary sax player Ken Vandermark start their european tour in Maribor!

Reut Regev is a known Israeli born, New York based, trombonist, composer and bandleader who presented us her critically acclaimed debut album "This is R*time" with great fellow musicians, as part of the Izzven festival.

Great night with all-star jazz quintet consisting of legendary Ray Anderson on trombone, Paul van Kemenade (alto saxophone), Frank Möbus (guitar), Ernst Glerum (double bas) and 70 years old "forever young" Han Bennink on drums.

Evening of Polish culture in Maribor's Kino Udarnik featured the Trio of the famous Polish jazz pianist and composer Artur Dutkiewicz, finalist of the Thelonious Monk Competition in Washington, USA.

Sold-out gig of an excellent rock-jazz quartet from Bristol, with Goldfrapp's Daisy Palmer on drums.

Latin sounds mixed with electronics and rap is what Dafnis Prietos Proverb Trio is all about - it really is a "afro-cuban jazz for the new millennium", as the PR announcement of the concert said.

Diana Krall, plus Anthony Wilson, Robert Hurst and Karriem Riggins. Only one song to shoot, away from stage.
