Yo La Tengo @ Tvornica kulture, Zagreb (Croatia), 08/11/2013
Yo La Tengo are one of the bands I've been enjoying for many, many years, and one of those bands that I haven't had the opportunity to see playing live. Well, so far, that is!
I was really happy when they announced the gig in Zagreb on this tour, and what a gig it was! It was made of two sets, the easier and the loud one, with a break in between, lasting for more then two hours.
Ira Kaplan said it took them almost 30 years to come here, but judging by the audience response (after two sets, which was much more then you usually get at your normal r'n'r concert, the crowd insisted and got two more encores), I'm pretty sure we will be on their map next time they come to this part of the world!
Georgia Hubley, Ira Kaplan and James McNew, Yo La Tengo's lineup for the last 21 years, gave us one of the best concerts of this year, for sure.
