Rock concert on a raft!
Stari pes, excellent "modern bluesrock meets funky groove" Maribor based band, played last Friday on a raft on river Drava in Maribor, Slovenia, as part of Drava Festival.
Raft is certainly not your typical rock venue, but Maribor is not your typical town, and Miha Lovše, the concert organizer, is not your typical concert organizer :) Thanks to Miha, I photographed my first concert on a train, now we had a raft - what’s next? An airplane? :)

Rock concert on a floating stage!
Guerrilla gig (using city’s unused infrastructure in a clever way) of Stari pes at Plavajoči oder na Dravi (Floating stage on river Drava) was one of those soon to become cult and legendary concerts that even those who weren’t there, will be talking like they were. Hot summer evening, cold...
Free train raid from Maribor to Ruše, bus from Ruše uphill to Pohorje mountain, an hour of hiking through the woods, then a concert of a cool band in a mountain house - sounds like a great Friday afternoon / night, right?
Train line Maribor - Ruše, Maribor (Slovenia), 28/11/2014
I don’t know of many bands that consists only of vocal, keyboards, cajon and bas and Miki Solus, young Croatian trio with great lyrics and cool music, are just that kind of a band. I also don’t know of many bands who performed in a train carriage (on a regular train line!), and Miki Solus did just that last Friday night!
After I missed what is now considered to be a legendary gig in Maribor when Punčke played Stolp 3 some time ago, I was sure not to miss this one. There were two main reasons for this: firstly, Punčke are great young female rock trio from Croatia that are brilliant for photographing live and secondly, the organiser of the concert, Miha Lovše, deserves every respect of concert lovers in Maribor and Slovenia.
